Please consider making a contribution to the American Diabetes Association with your registration.  One of our members, Mark Lundvick, has been named Father of the Year.  Mark’s family is particularly impacted by this disease. Several members of his family are dealing with diabetes, including his son, Brad, and his son-in- law, Ryan who both have Type 1 diabetes.  In order to help honor Mark and advance the American Diabetes Association mission, your support would be greatly appreciated.

Proposed Legislation Online Petition

As most of you are aware, John Bieniewicz, a soccer official from Southeast Michigan, was tragically killed while officiating a Amateur Men’s soccer game last year.

The WMOA has recommended the following changes to the organization by laws.  To be voted on by the active membership.

Proposed Change to Article III, Paragraph Two (2).

ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP shall be open to currently registered football and basketball MHSAA officials.  Members shall have the opportunity to attain Member In Good Standing (MIGS) status by (1) attending a minimum of 50% of regularly scheduled WMOA , rules /mechanics meetings for each of their sport of choice in the year preceding such designated ...

Proposed Legislation

Michigan Senator Introduces Assault Bill

Michigan Senator Morris Hood introduced a bill in late January that calls for harsher penalties for people who assault a sports official or encourage others to attack a sports official. If passed, the legislation would make an assault of an official a felony punishable by up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. That’s up from the misdemeanor penalty of 93 days in jail or a $500 fine under current assault law. ...
